We all recognize the power of sound. Whether pleasant or harsh, sound affects both our physical and energetic bodies. A blast of a car horn can make us jump and get our heart thumping, while a favorite song can boost our mood. But did you know that just by listening to certain sounds we can help our bodies heal?
During a sound bath, vibrational tones are played through a variety of unconventional instruments (such as singing bowls and chimes). Research has shown these vibrational tones emit frequencies that encourage the brain to enter theta state (deep relaxation). Being in theta state enables the mind and body to rest and heal. In fact, theta brainwaves are often described as the “waves of healing”.
Attending a sound bath gives your nervous system the opportunity to enter a parasympathetic state, allowing your body’s natural restorative healing process to activate.
Enjoying a sound bath is an effortless way to boost theta brainwave activity. Just lie back and let the vibrations lull you into that deep relaxation state where you may experience:
- Reduced anxiety
- A boost in creativity and problem-solving skills
- Improved learning
- Aid in illness recovery
- Enhanced mood
- Improved sleep quality
- Lower stress levels
In a nutshell, a sound bath is like a giant RESET button for your body, mind and spirit!
