Manuka Honey is a mono-floral varietal produced in New Zealand and Australia from the nectar of the Manuka tree. Characterized as earthy, complex and slightly mineral, it also has a hint menthol notes which leaves a smooth, cool mouthfeel. Its impressive health benefits are due to methylglyoxal (MGO), a naturally occurring compound that makes Manuka honey so effective. Not all Manuka honey is created equal and its MGO amounts vary greatly. This Manuka honey had been certified as MGO 100+ (>100mg/kg).
